The Admission Modalities are with reference to the campus-based BBA, BCA, B.Com, BA, MA, MBA and Doctoral Programs offered by the ICFAI University at Nagaland. The medium of instruction is English.
Eligibility for UG Programs
BBA and BCA: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with
an aggregate of 40% and above (any discipline). For BCA
course, preference will be given to candidates with sound
knowledge of Mathematics.
B.A. (Hons.) and B.Com (Hons.):
The candidate must have passed 10+2 with an aggregate of 40% and above in the subject opting for Honours or pass in 10+2 with an aggregate of 45% and above (any discipline), if the student has not opted for the subject of Honours at 10+2 level.
B.A. (Pass) and B.Com (Pass): The candidate must have passed 10+2 in any discipline.
For the purpose of determining eligibility based on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure used by the respective Board of School Education will only be taken into consideration. All candidates should have completed a minimum of 12 years of formal schooling by August 01, 2016.
Final year students of 10+2 who have not received the transcripts/ certificates from the respective Board of school education by August 01, 2015 will be admitted provisionally. However, the admission of such candidates will be confirmed subject to passing the qualifying examination and meeting the minimum requirements as indicated above. The registration of the candidates not meeting the criteria by September 01, 2016 will be cancelled and the permissible fees will be refunded.
The process of admission and selection of eligible candidates :
The selection of candidates into the program is made through screening of application and interview. While evaluating candidates for admission, due weightage is given to their academic distinction, awards in Games & sports, Literary & cultural activities, and other extra co-curricular activities.
Original certificates and Domicile certificate should be produced for verification at the time of admission. The admission decision will be communicated after the admission process.
Eligibility for PG Programs
MBA: Graduation in any discipline with 45% and above aggregate marks.
MA (English):The Candidate must have passed BA (Honours) in English with minimum 45% of marks or must have read English as one of the subjects at Undergraduate level and must have secured an aggregate of not less than 45% of marks and above at the Undergraduate level.
MA (Pol. Science): The Candidate must have passed BA (Honours) in Political Science with minimum 45% of marks or must have read Political Science as one of the elective subjects at Undergraduate level and must have secured an aggregate of 45% of marks and above at the Undergraduate level.
General rule: For the purpose of determining eligibility based on aggregate percentage of marks, the procedure used by the respective University in award of the degree will only be taken into consideration. All candidates should have completed a minimum of 15 years of formal schooling by August 01, 2016. Candidates who have completed their graduation on a one-time sitting basis or a 2-year basis are not eligible for admission to the Postgraduate Programs.
Students in their final year bachelor?s degree course are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their graduation requirements including practical examinations/ viva assignments before August 01, 2016. Such candidates will have to produce a certificate to that effect at the time of admission. The admissions of such candidates will, however, remain provisional until they produce marks sheets/ transcript and a degree certificate establishing their eligibility. The last date for submitting the proof of graduation transcripts is September 01, 2016, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled, and the permissible fees will be refunded.
There shall be a special provision for admission of the
candidates belonging to the State of Nagaland (Domicile) in
any course of ICFAI University, Nagaland, which shall not be
less than 25 (twenty-five) percent of seats in each course/
discipline subject to the students meeting the minimum
qualifying requirements referred to above. The fee forthe Domicile students is less than that of the non-domicile
students (please refer the fee chart).
Seats remaining unfilled under special reservation may be filled up by allotting the same to candidates belonging to Open Category.
Refund, if any, will depend on the date of commencement of the classes and the date of leaving the semester. The amount of refund will be proportionate to the number of days the student is supposed to have attended the classes. In such cases the student has to inform the Registrar in writing that one would be deregistering from the course/ semester with effect from a particular date that one intends to deregister. No refund will be given to a student who completes a given semester/ course. Refund is also not applicable for the students falling short of attendance, and those who are rusticated due to disciplinary problems or malpractices. However, if a student decides to withdraw from a course immediately after registering for the course by paying the semester fee (but before the commencement of the classes), then on the basis of a written application to the Registrar, a full refund of the Program fee and examination fees will be given to the student.
